  1. Hi
I built a Selway Fisher Little Kate recently from 4mm exterior ply and have used more of it than I ever thought, on lake, canal and even the estuary on a calm day. She is a dream to paddle, very responsive and she's real little head turner. Unfortunately there's not enough room for Bobby my border collie, my next build is going to be a Raven 14 !!
I am impressed with your build and the layout of your blog. I was surprised to see holes in the edge of the marine ply, the main difference between marine and good quality exterior ply is that there should be no voids in the marine ply. I used a scarf joint and joined the two sheets of ply before marking and cutting, but I like the neat finish you have achieved by taping the joins and I think I'll try this next time. It's nice to see it all varnished as well, it looks a really nice canoe. Congratulations on an excellent build.
